ABOUT
Jeff Carlisle is a late-in-life folk artist who began creating after retiring from the National Park Service, though he still likes to say he’s “just a guy in a workshop.” He works with stained glass, wood, and reclaimed objects, especially worn tools and humble household items that feel like they still have a story. His work is guided by faith, imagination, and Southern folk art traditions, shaped in part by the influence of artists like Howard Finster and the quiet legacy of woodcarving and stained glass he inherited from his father. Jeff creates from East Tennessee, where place, history, and everyday life continue to shape his work.
